Prime Minister Janša enters late into the life of the three artists, but when this happens, his role begins to grow. That they had become so intertwined and connected is not surprising, said Štefančič.

In the biography published by the newspaper company Mladina, anecdotes from the lives of the three artists are accompanied by the social picture of the 1970s and 1980s and foretell the topics that the three artists would examine later in their work, explained the moderator at the presentation, Dražen Dragojević.

He mentioned that the three artists that changed their names to Janez Janša "are more political than politics itself". The artists interfered in the life of the politician in a way that politics interferes in our everyday life and it is precisely with this that they have transcended the level of the political, explained Štefančič.

It is a biography about three artists who grew up in three different places and in three different countries and finally met in Ljubljana, but in principle, claims Štefančič, you realize that they had lived in the same street their entire lives, that they went through the red armies, the fall of communism, the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the disintegration and subsequent reestablishment of ideologies. "They themselves appear as a biography of the disintegration and a reconstruction of the world,” deemed Štefančič.

This book has good protagonists with which Slovenian readers can identify, but it also has good antagonists and some people die in it. "It has all the elements that make it easier for the book to enter the hearts of Slovenians,” opined Štefančič. He stressed that the biography is not fictionalised and is based only on true events. "If we want people to understand the depth of what these men are doing, we have to be as photo-realistic as possible,” he said.

To Dragojević’s question why the name in the title is in the singular, Štefančič answered that the reason for this lies in his understanding of the whole matter as the Janez Janša project, which includes several people. Perhaps even the whole of Slovenia or even the broader European community, he added. (STA, bl)
