Pekmez Gallery, Koroška c. 18, Maribor

In Pekmez Gallery, Andrej Hrvatin, Gregor Kosi, Katja Hrvatin Jazbec and Daniela Kičić will build, smooth, reveal and establish an audio-visual textual exhibition, the framework and the structure of Trak 47’s activities.

… the species of the social constructedness of art; the traversing of the absurd and the generators of sense in the practice of a “public gesture” (performance art?, concert?, multimedia happening?), temporariness as defetishization, in situ as its condition, decentralisation as obligation ...

… through the research, we intend to reveal the motives and the modes of our/common activities, which will serve as a research sample, self-analyse and detect the social make-up that translates such activities into signifiers such as 'excess', 'creative', 'political', 'pretentious', 'empty,' 'flop', 'boring'… From practice to theory, from screaming to epistemology and through Pohor back to….

In 2009, Maska Institute started the artistic research programme for artists working in various fields of contemporary arts who are interested in in-depth research. Artistic research has the characteristics of educational and discursive operation. The essence of artistic research is to delve into the problem, be it aesthetic, social or intimate. The format and method of work are not determined in advance, but are the result of the research process itself. We encourage interdisciplinary and platform cooperation. This means we would like to work with artists who create a platform for meetings, confrontations and a common reflection on the research topic. The participants in the artistic research programme so far have been Urška Vohar (Leotard ) and Irena Tomažin and Hana Preuss (Ptih!).
