DANCE DRAMATURGY– DRAMATURGICAL ADVISING
19.04.2009 | DANCE DRAMATURGY
from 23 to 26 October 2009
In the framework of the Dance Dramaturgy Programme, we are preparing
a three-day dramaturgical advising workshop with international experts in the field of contemporary performing arts. It is intended for authors and groups interested in a creative, dynamic and critical discussion on artistic processes and decisions. The advising workshop provides a possibility for the creators and their co-workers to meet experts and enter with them into an open and critical dialogue on dramaturgical questions that arise during the creative process.
The advisors will be:
- Elke van Campenhout, a dramaturge and researcher in the field of art. She was the editor in chief of Etcetera, a Brussels-based magazine on contemporary performing arts. Since 2003, she has been working as a freelance dramaturge and curator on numerous projects and, since 2005, she has been teaching Art Critique at the University of Antwerp, the Department of Theatre Studies. She heads the APT (Advanced Performance Training) experimental postgraduate programme.
- Ivana Ivkoviæ, a dramaturge, member of the editorial board of Frakcija Magazine for Performing Arts. She is the general coordinator of Zagreb – Cultural Kapital of Europe 3000. She collaborates as a dramaturge with two Zagreb-based independent companies – oour and BADco.
- Toni Cots, a choreographer, actor and general coordinator of L'ANIMAL A L'ESQUENA, a performing arts centre in Spain. For several years, he was a member of the Eugenio Barba theatre in Odin. He specializes in Asian theatre.
The advising workshop will offer a discussion on artistic processes, conceptual questions and problems related to creating a performance.
